Sunset Views

This may identify me as getting older,
but we like to watch the beautiful sunsets here.
Since the beach faces south, it's kinda tough
to see good sunsets from the beach.
Here are a couple of places I recommend.

1. Look up sunset time and arrive early.
2. Take lawn/beach chairs for everyone who wants to sit.
3. Drive like you are going to the main gate/entrance.
Instead of exiting to the south, turn north on Sandestin Blvd N.

Drive north until you get to the Sunset Bay Cafe.
Drive past it to the parking lot of the Bayside at Sandestin.
Park as far to the west of the parking lot as you can get.
Get out, get you chairs and walk to where you want to watch the sunset.
There are spots right there at the bayside to sit and watch.
We have even walked a bit farther west
onto the golf course fairway and set up right on the shore.

Luau Sunset Views

We found a very interesting way to view the sunset - from atop the Luau Condo.
There are two towers identified as the Luau across the parking lot from beach parking.
The view and sunsets from the top of the higher building of the two is spectacular.
Look at the map below to identify where you are going.
Let off your crew at the circle in front of the two towers and go park
in the beach parking, as close to the Luau as possible.
Walk back up the hill and join your family in the lobby of the taller tower.
Find the elevators, take the right one.
Press the button marked "S" for Sunset.
That is the 20th Floor
Exit the elevator, turn left, walk out the door to the roof top.
Enjoy a spectacular view of the entire coast, bay and Sandestin,
as well as a spectacular sunset.
When finished, go back down elevator and go do something else wonderful.

Sunset on the Pier

Baytowne Pier

Of course, you are already familiar with the pier at Baytowne.
This is another great place to watch the sun set.
Get there early enough to find a good place to watch the sun set and enjoy!
