2023 Senior Youth Conference
YOUNG PREACHERS COMPETITION

Attention, all seniors planning to attend this year's BMA Senior Youth Conference, July 18-22, 2022. We need you to sign up to participate in this year's Young Preacher's Competition. We want to be a little bit more organized this year, so we are making plans now to help you make this year's competition more meaningful to all our campers. This competition has been going now for twelve years. We'd like you to sign up to participate this year and let us know ahead of time so we can coordinate the participation and help you prepare.

The Scripture text is Esther 4:14. We'd like you to prepare a five to seven minute message from this text, let us know your intention to participate and then work hard to prepare what you hope to say. You do not have to be "Billy Graham" to participate, but it helps if you feel the Lord is calling you to step out and give it a try. Remember, the Lord equips those whom He calls. If He is calling you to participate this year, we ask you to do three things:

1. CONSIDER and DECIDE: Take a close look at the first handout below to let you know how we will organize, present and evaluate your sermon to us. Make a decision early to participate and allow the Lord to use you to speak on the Camp Theme to your fellow campers.

2. SIGN UP: The other handout is an example handout for your Youth Pastor to use to promote this very important part of our Youth Conference this year, but we'd also like you to talk to your Youth Pastor, make sure he knows you want to participate, sign the sheet and then email me at this link so we can begin to coordinate when you will speak.

3. PREPARE: Pray about your preparation. Put your sermon on paper and start to work to refine it. Talk to your Youth Pastor and ask him if he'd like to hear you practice it before you come to camp. Maybe go to this section of the BMA Website and listen to several pastors who just preached and taught on varioius aspects of your topic at our Spring BMA Conference in Crosby. Maybe you can get some good ideas from them. Take a real close look at Pastor Kevin Horath's body language as he spoke to decide if that's the way you want to go.

Please, please, please pray about your participation in this year's Bethel Youth Conference Young Preacher's Competition. Sign up, prepare and look for how the Lord will bless you in your preparation and faithfulness. Looking forward to seeing you all in July!
