ECCLESIASTES 12:13 “LET US HEAR THE CONCLUSION OF THE WHOLE MATTER…”
ONE HUNDRED VERSES! Wow! We made it! It really feels great to have reached this goal! I hope you are feeling it too.
I hope these four books and these selected 100 Bible verses have been an inspiration to you. There is always a great sense of satisfaction in reaching a goal. I hope you are enjoying that with me. The Lord says, “Well Done!”
One thing we must remember is that in order to KEEP these verses in our memory, we have to keep going over them time and time again. Whether you use your flash cards, the online SWORD DRILL or just pasting your verses to the refrigerator, keep going over them regularly.
Some of these verses may have been hidden in your short-term memory long enough to be able to successfully pull them back out again to complete our goal. What we need to do now is keep going over them daily to permanently store them in long term memory.
Having succeeded now, it is entirely possible that you can go on to memorize even more than 100 Bible verses. I know that the Lord was pointing out verses to me as I approached these last chapters that I had forgotten about. Go for it!
I encourage you to READ the Word regularly too. If you have never read the Bible all the way through, please consider that. There are lots of programs and studies available online that can help you meet that goal. Keep being a faithful student of the Word as well as the workman you have proven yourself to be.
If you made it with me here to 100 Verses, you know a lot about what Christian discipline is all about. Discipline never comes easy…it is about hard work. But that is what Jesus calls us to as followers and true disciples.
Luke 9:23 hit it right on the head. If we are to be the Lord’s disciples, we have to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. It took some serious self-denial to devote yourself to memorize all of these Scriptures. I know you will agree that there is a lot more “cross carrying” in this life than just this exercise…get ready for what is next to come. If you have memorized all of these 100, you have definitely learned a lot about what it means to follow Him. Keep it up…in all the avenues of your life.
Please feel free to send me a text, email or give me a call any time with comments and suggestions for the books. Your help makes the product even better for us all. Who knows? Maybe Book 5?
Like Paul now, I encourage you to PRESS ON! Find every way to grow closer to the Lord as you live for Him. Again, congratulations on a job well done!
God bless you in your faithfulness to Him,
Dave Matthews.
