Brother Glenn Dyhouse pioneered the Bethel Church in Rockport, Indiana. He was instrumental in establishing the Bethel Youth Camp from its beginnings. He was a tireless worker who never ceased to praise the Lord! |

 This is a picture of the founding minister of Bethel Tabernacle in Rockport now known as Reo Christian Center. I am sure that Joe Greene would love to see this picture as well. He grew up in that church and lives right behind the old church which is now used as a rehabilitation center for drug & alcohol recovery. |

Elizabeth Jane Dyhouse, 94, of Newburgh, Ind., passed away at 4:45 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation Center. Elizabeth was born March 19, 1915, in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of John and Hettie Lashley. She was a charter member of Bethel Temple Community Church and member of the Berean Bible Class. Elizabeth and her late husband, Reverend Glenn Dyhouse, were founders and 35-year members of Bethel Tabernacle in Rockport, Ind. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She is survived by on daughter, Shirley (Hornbeck) Corbett and her husband, Newman "Bud," of Newburgh; one son, Deryl Dyhouse of Newburgh; four grandchildren, Tony Hornbeck and his wife, Teresa, of Mount Vernon, Ind., Rick Hornbeck and his wife, Twila, of Newburgh, Lori Chastain and her husband, Bradley, of Clarksville, Ga., and Kevin Dyhouse and his wife, Susan, of Cincinnati, Ohio; three stepgrandchildren, Fred Corbett and his wife, Patti, Robert Corbett and his wife, Lisa, and Karen Hartke; 11 great-grandchildren; and 8 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Reverend Glenn Dyhouse, on September 22, 1986, two sisters, Jeanette Abshier and Evelyn Altheide, and a brother, William Lashley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Reverend R.R. Schwambach officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Evansville Christian School, 4400 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47714. |
