So you think you want to run for a campaign! Most of us who have "been there and done that" will wish you luck. Of course, it takes a lot more than luck to win a campaign. It is our hope, as a Party, that we can help you win your election. That is our job. It is our calling to find good, electable candidates and help them win their elections. The problem we have had over the years is that no one ever told candidates how to do that!

It has been our weakness that, after coming up with some good, reliable candidates, we have essentially told them, "you're on your own.....run your campaign." That has never been good enough. There is probably nothing more frustrating than starting down this road, not having the first clue what to do, and having no one to advise you. We want to fix that!

In the following pages of our website, we hope you will find information that will be very helpful to you in organizing and running your campaign. Obviously, there is no way these comments and suggestions will be comprehensive. But many of us....myself included....have run our own campaigns. The least we can do is pass along the lessons we learned and help you keep from making the same mistakes we did. Maybe some of this advice might even help you win. We hope so.

Please take a look at the information below. Start anywhere you want to. In any page, you will find a link at the bottom that allows you to scroll through to the next page, much like reading a book. Or, of course, you can select a topic and read it alone. Whatever method you choose, we hope you find this resource useful. Please let us know if you have any comments by contacting me via email or a phone call any time. Again, our wish for you is that your campaign will be successful and that we will be able to help you win your race and continue to advance the platform and ideals of our Party and the traditions of our great nation!
God bless,
Dave Matthews

“Organize the whole state, so that every Whig can be brought to the polls. Divide the county into small districts and appoint in each a committee. Make a perfect list of voters and ascertain with certainty for whom they will vote. Keep a constant watch on the doubtful voters and have them talked to by those in whom they have the most confidence….and on Election Day see that every Whig is brought to the polls.”
Abraham Lincoln, 1840.
